It looks like it... Besides the possible limited edition balltop handles from Sanwa -- the silver and gold mentioned in the FocusAttack thread --, it looks like there's a limited amount of new product and what is probably limited production run colors.
(NOTE: I did NOT see these balltop handles/pics in the FocusAttack thread itself. I had to use the search function and for some reason a picture DID pop up of these balltop handles there! They both look nice. I find gold to be a garish color, though, and prefer silver. It just goes better with more colors.)
Most of this comes from links off of the Japan Amusement Expo site... http://www.jaepo.jp/company.html
There's very little English and you have to look for the company links blindly to see pictures of the new items.
First off, Sanwa since that's the company most people are interested in -- http://www.rakuten.co.jp/sanwadenshi/
There's an image right away of a new button design. It has a large domed plunger on it. This is the one that's already been talked about here -- http://forums.shoryuken.com/discussion/175656/anyone-try-the-new-sanwa-obsf-30q-se
(Apparently, these high-convex/domed-plunger buttons haven't worked out well for the initial buyers. Guess they might be limited production after all?
(Were they meant for DDR type games???? They sure don't look like fighting game/traditional buttons!)
Seimitsu seems to have more new product/limited edition items coming out in the near future... http://www.seimitsu.co.jp/
The main things I see for Seimitsu are solid white 30mm PS-14-G AND PS-15 buttons as well as a black-rimmed, white plunger PS-15 button.
I can see the new solid white buttons being incorporated into permanent production lines. As vanilla as it is, white's the most popular button color... (Uggghhh!)
There looks to be a new kind of LED-equipped button coming out called the PSL-30 but I don't know that it's meant to be used with home rigs and this is the first I've heard of/seen it. Very interesting...
The last item is the re-release of colors that Seimitsu tried out a few years ago.
It looks like they're bringing back these colors for the PS-15 button line -- light blue, dark/navy blue, hot pink, forest green PS-15 buttons as well as LB-35 balltop handles in these same colors. It does NOT look like they're re-releasing the black-rimmed versions of these button colors...
My guess is that these buttons will probably be limited production. There must have been some demand for them to re-release these colors but I don't think they'll become part of permanent. I think the white buttons I mentioned earlier probably will stay in production for the forseeable future.
This is all I caught for both companies. There might be a little more but as Focus Attack top guy jmanDMC said (paraphrasing here), "There doesn't appear to be lot of new product [from Sanwa and Seimitsu] this year..."
