Pelican Universal Real Arcade Stick PCB: Hack to not blow PSTwo fuses?

Edit: There's apparently more than one of this type of stick and they each have a different PCB. Until I can identify which one I have, I think this thread may be a bit less useful, sorry about that.

I picked up one of the old wooden Pelican Universal sticks the other day, however I remembered something about them causing issues with Slim PS2 controller ports. Sure enough, after doing some research, they apparently draw from the 7.5V motor rumble line and not the lower voltage 3.3V usually used for controller logic. The slim doesn't take too kindly to being used like this, and you'll apparently blow a fuse which will knock out your rumble capability.

Is anyone aware of a hack that makes this PCB safe to use on the slim? Like for example, has anyone ever tried rewiring the PS2 part of the cable so that it draws from 3.3V instead of from 5V, and had it work?

I actually haven't taken the stick apart yet (yes, shame on me as a SRKTTer), but from what I can tell this should be its PCB (thanks random internet guy):
