hey all. im new here. well ive been watching forums for many years but never actually felt a need to talk. now i have a question.
just recently bought 2 x360 controllers, well just for casual gaming stuff on my tv so dont burn me with eternal flame. i always had problems with dpad when playing on xbox at my friends but man.. now that i got the stuff at home it's like a terrible terrible joke. the question is:
are there any DIY mods to make the dpad anybetter? i tried searching the forums (6 pages of threads to my query) but found nothing on the cheap, only some massive redos hacks etc. but maybe someone was trying sometime to make it any better and can share the experience? i particularly have a problem when doing hadoukens that my character always end the motion in jump.
what i have done so far:
- grinded the well of the dpad
- bought transformer dpad (the chromeone) just for the slighlty better feel under the finger, also had to grind some more the top shell of the pad to fit it inside
- grinded the protrounding rods under the dpad (the ones that actually push the ruber contacts)
- stick on some foamy pads under the dpad plastic, the foamy ones that you glue under furniture for example
- after trial and error i slowly were cutting them down (the foamy pads) to adjust their height
all this helped A TON in fixing the dpad motion but i still got the second pad, somaybe someone can share their work?
