Looking to mod my Madcatz Fightstick Pro.

I've had this for a little bit and rather enjoy it. I would like to get different buttons as I don't like the ones currently in it as they are a bit too mushy. Can anyone give me some recommendations for some more clicky buttons? Ideally, something that feels like a cherry blue switch. I'm also in the UK so I can't really afford to buy from American stores.

How to handle Joystick LED wires

$

Ive made one arcade stick before and I tried to implement a LED inside a hollow shaft to the joystick ball. But it only worked for a little while before the wire broke.

Now even if I ordered a ready made LED joystick from Paradise Arcade. How do I keep the wire from breaking? I'd still want to use the stick regularly without having to worry about pulling on it. Do I simply leave the wire for way longer then needed and hope it doesn't twist? Reinforce connections on either end?

Is there a proper way to ensure durability with joystick LED's?

TE2+ owners?

Anyone having problems with it so far?

I just received my te2+ from amazon today and some of the buttons already stopped working out of nowhere. The connections look fine, could it be the wires are already worn out? From the looks of it, it seems the wires wore out from the way the wires are tied together causing too much stress on them.

Noob questions

I'm looking to make a fightstick over the summer (as I will need the time before to gather the money and the knowledge to do it). I would like to make a stick that could work either as a hitbox or with a stick (that I would remove using Phreakmod quick connect when using as a hitbox). I know it's probably not ideal and I should stick to one style, but I never had a stick before so I would like to try both without having to build a second box and buy a second PCB (those things are expensive). I'm planning on using it mainly for PC and so far I was thinking of getting Brook UFB. Do you think I could do it, would I have to do extensive modifications or simply coupling the wires for the direction would work? Or just using a harness for stick and single cables for buttons? Thanks for the help.

tips on how to put a fanta stick in a madcatz TE(and what to look out for)

$

so i decided to put a fanta in my TE since i tried the crown 303/307 series korean sticks and i hate them. theyre ok to get the idea of how a korean stick operates over a sanwa, but even with the fanta upgrade, theyre not good, have a huge deadzone, missed inputs and overall just feel like a chinese knockoff of a fanta.

so i looked into putting a fanta in my TE since all ive heard was "just drill the hole out and buy the kowal plate adapter and youll be set"....not so at all. i ran into several problems that if someone told me, id be happy.

1- you need to trim parts of the fanta so the mounting screws will fit. this was easy enough, just use a diagonal cutter or something since the plastic is soft, so it wont snap.

z3SUbNJm.jpg

2- drill the hole with a step bit to 1 3/8ths, and go SLOW this was the biggest pain, for one theres no way i could use a normal cordless drill since it took forever and took a lot of power to drill through, and also i was going really fast at first and it started to separate the artwork and get shavings in between the plate and plastic. i might have to look into a plexi to put on top or something. youll also have to wiggle the step bit in the hole since its not exactly 1 3/8ths size

other than that it was pretty simple especially since i already had a harness from when i put the crown into it. all in all, im happy i did it because its superior to the crown and maybe even the sanwa imo, i didnt think it would be almost automatic, but im able to korean backdash like crazy now when i was barely able to with my crown or sanwa

Fightstick not working PC

My fightstick (Mad Catz SFxT edition) lights up for a brief second when plugged into my PC. after then it goes dark (no input etc). When I plug in a wired Xbox 360 controller it lights up for the same amount of time and then shows the first player quarter circle and works great. Is my stick broken? I have never used this fightstick for this PC before.

If it helps, I have never used this fight stick with this PC before. But in my old computer it was a plug and play since I have plugged in a Xbox 360 controller previously for the drivers.

When I go to the Mad Catz website to download the drivers it asks for me to plug in my fight stick and it doesn't allow me to move onto the next step until doing so. But I do not know if my product is included in the 4 drivers they have (ALPHA, TE2, TE2+, TES+) I tried all 4 and they do not work.

Need help! Thanks

Paradise Arcade Shop, LED Joysticks, Buttons, Mods and more

We have been floating around for a little while posting and received a recommendation to start a thread. Paradise Arcade Shop is based in Hawaii, working to bring a variety of controls to the arcade and fight stick market. We carry a number of different options for price points in both sticks and buttons, but we only sell products that we would use. That means, there is a difference between a Porsche and a Toyota, we see a place for both of those in the market, and we won't sell Toyota's at Porsche prices.

I say "we" as Ponyboy likes to harass me about, because the company is my wife and I. For those of you who have ordered already(thank you) she packs the orders and answers about 90% of the emails (mostly logisitics, but she is answering the "How to I light an LED" questions now) This is also her full time job and my part time job. She works hard to send out all stock items in 1-2 days, and rides my ass about the cutsom builds so they stay close to 1-3 days(We build LED sticks to order, and some of our game systems)

I have been an active membe of KLOV, Coinopspace, and BYOAC for sometime, and we sell on EBAY and Amazon. I will probably edit the intro down in the future, but I wanted just let people know who "we" are and who I am. Thank you for all the support and orders we already have received and now...it's time for the good stuff!

Mortal Kombat 9 Stick mod products!!!!! If you want new controls with the same forms to just upgrade your stick try some of these IL products and microswitch upgrades.

Translucent Concave IL buttons - A great upgrade to your stick, especially with...

IL-lumination LED pads - Available in RGB or single color

IL Eurosticks provide "Happ Competition" Style with an upgrade in quality

And, for amazing light touch, upgrade any Happ or IL button to our 20 gram micros (Please note that these are 20 gram max spec and really are closer to 15 grams of actuation force)

We also carry JLF's, JLW's, LS-32, LS-32-01, LS-40, PS-14-KN pushbuttons, re-released PS-14-K Skeleton buttons, Paradise LED sticks, custom ball tops and a variety of hollow shafts(we also have 10 new custom hollow shafts on order, need a long JLF shaft or want to put a ball top on a Eurostick joystick?)

Finally... we have two new ball tops in, Pearls and Emerald Green that will be available shortly and were built to match the Rollie Buttons.

And the answer is "Yes, the pearl will light up."

I am having something weird happen with my stick. It is a Mad Catz TE1 for the 360. I use it on PC.

Everything works the way it should. The problem is with down on the stick. If I tap it down or do QCF motions everything is fine. But if I hold down for a second or so, when I let go, the character on screen stays down a little and then stands up. If during this period I press something else or move the stick they get up and do what I want them to. Its just annoying if I am specifically wanting to crouch for a bit and then stand up straight again. Like ducking a projectile or whatever.

It does it with all games I play.

new to the SFV scene... a little help with the sticks

$

hello everybody!
I'll cut right to the chase: I'm going to buy my first stick and I need a little help.
I read the guides and stuff but I want to be sure about what I'm doing. There are so many possibilities and it's all so confusing, so... sorry for the inflated topic.

I'll be playing SFV on PC and I'm trying to get the best value for money.
Living in Italy I'm limited to the main models on sale on our Amazon, which are the most common (Qanba Q4, Madcatz TE2+, Hori RAP4).
I don't want to consider modding, so no Venom and between those, I'd go with the Qanba because the Madcatz it's too expensive and the stock hori si meh (right?).
There are 2 versions of the Qanba.
The "2 in 1" version says it comes with Qingshui JLF and Sanwa Buttons... is it possibile? I couldn't get any information about Qingshui sticks searching with google and I knew all the Q4 came with full Sanwa parts.
The "3 in 1", apart from being universally compatible, says it's full Sanwa (stick and buttons).
The first it's 130 and the latter 169... so if the difference is just the Xbox compatibility, I'd take the 2 in 1, but if it's about the stick, I'd consider spending more.

Other than the Qanba, the second hand market doesn't offer much.
I found a Madcatz SSFIV arcade stick modded full sanwa and a Madcatz TE for 60 and 90. The price would be the perfect steal, but I read that Playstation sticks are often not recognized by PC, due to the motherboard chip.
Xbox sticks are hard to find cause in Italy nobody has Xbox...

I'm asking for your help, especially about the Qanba models!

Thank you guys

Ps3 sticks like the Madcatz VS stick not working with multiplayer on Steam (PC)

Hey guys,

I don't know if anybody has gotten this working yet, but its pretty frustrating considering the stick worked flawlessly with local multiplayer and online out of the box for sf4. Why not import the drivers to the new game?

Anyways, I got it working with I believe it was a mix of motionjoy and some ps3 drivers for pc.. but if I'm using that stick, you can't use a ps3, ps4, or xbox controller at the same time. I couldn't get it to work at all.

Has anybody gotten the ps3 sticks to work with multiplayer?

T.E.2+ Holding Left Input on D-Pad and Left Stick

So I purchased a used for parts arcade stick off Ebay thinking I could fix it since it was indicated that the only problem was the Joystick. After spending some time investigating the issue I have not found a solid answer to my issue. Using proper drivers and having checked the joystick PCB and even the wiring from the PCB to the Joystick Is till can not get it to default to neutral. I've seen that there is a possibility that the USB cable itself could be having issues, but other than a random post on reddit have found nothing to back this up. Is there a fix for this I'm just not finding or do i just need to replace the control PCB it came with?

PAS LVT3 LED board and input lag...Is there a connection??

$
0
0
I'm gonna start off this topic by saying that I am an average Street Fighter player among a few other fighting games, and I know that execution is crucial any any skill level. My execution is lacking at times, but I am actively working on not mashing buttons and focusing on clean inputs. Thus bringing us to the topic of this thread - For my fellow LVT3 owners, regardless of platform version or board revision, Can anyone say with any level of certainty that the LVT3 create input lag while using it (properly installed with button relay lights, not just lighting the buttons) while playing games?? While I know that SFV has a considerable amount of input delay built into the game, and it could just be me, but I swear the LVT3 is causing lag while playing. There have been times when I know for a fact I've hit the proper button (double tap, plink, etc) and nothing comes out or I get stuffed, even in training or in Vs. Not really sure what the fuck in going on. I'm currently using the LVT3 just lighting the buttons, not relaying thru, to see if there is in fact any difference. Share your thoughts, ideas, solid concrete evidence, anything...Thanx in advance

About the ps4 => xbone brook converter

<my_life>
I'm a long time reader of this forum, I used advices from people in here to build my own arcade stick setup. that's my first post though ^^'
</my_life>

Hi, I'm using my ps4 controller on my pc, and I have been using since the beginning of the ps4 never had any problem, now I have a new ds4 controller, and sometimes, unexpectedly, windows rejects it (it randomly sets the device as 'deactivated' in the device manager !!), so I was wondering if using a brooks converter (a ps4 to xbox one controller) would solve the problem, so my question is:

Anyone know if you can plug and use a ds4 controller in a pc using a ds4=>xone brooks converter?

Non-sensitive buttons?

Hey guys, I just got one of these: https://www.amazon.com/HORI-Arcade-Silent-Fight-Stick-PlayStation/dp/B015PRGF06 and the buttons are WAY too sensitive. I rest my finger slightly on a button and out comes an attack. Are there buttons that feel like a keyboard? I'm looking at GamerFinger, and those seem nice, but which ones require the most pressure to activate? http://www.gamerfinger.com/hbfs30.html

Will GameFinger buttons fit in the that stick?

Ideally I'd basically want some keyboard key feeling buttons, lol.

Hi Everyone!

I was wondering if anyone knows how to make the cables for the Kade MiniConsole+. I wanted to get it but didn't want to pay 300 bucks for all the cables that I wanted to get.
I bought the old ones and loved them. Just wanted these since they are programmable. I also have the diagram for the original one if anyone wants that.
These are for people that want to use their retro controllers on the newer generation systems, such as saturn controller on the ps3

Madcatz Home Panel Replacement Board: Making UFB installs EZPZ

$

The Home Panel Replacement board (HPR) is designed to make installing Brooks Universal Fighting Board (UFB) easier to install in Madcatz sticks that use the home panel like the one in the TE. It will replace the pcb in the home panel of any TE/TE-S/SE/KE/Brawlstick/Pro/VS regardless if it was for ps3, 360, or wii.
Features that remain are the player leds, lock switch, and home button.
Features that are lost are the stick mode and turbo.
Features that are gained are the touchpad, L3, and R3 buttons via the turbo button (now the Aux button). The stick mode switch (now Aux switch) will control which one of thosee three inputs the Aux button registers.

Some models have rubber membranes that have tiny little nips.
jRjHckc.png

If it does then there are tiny holes for them to squeeze through.

What the board looks like once the switch caps and rubber membranes are switched over:

Back side view for the installed swap:
Ja8NgFu.png

Included with the HPR are three harnesses and two headers. The two headers are soldered onto the UFB J5 and J4 locations.
oyHi7Sq.png

If your UFB has one or both headers already preinstalled and they are shrouded then check to make sure they face the same way as the ones above.
If they are shrouded and face the opposite way then remove the plastic so that only the pins remain.
GbJDPRI.png
When the harnesses are plugged in they should be facing like this:
fwkrRmh.png

View of the HPR connected to the UFB. Two of the harnesses plug straight into the UFB. The third harness has just two wires. The red wire plugs into the screw terminal for the home signal (labeled PS/XBOX on the UFB). The black wire will require being soldered to the Kgnd wire that is part of the fightstick's button harness. If the fightstick does not have a Kgnd then you may disregard this wire.
FnrOL9c.jpg

Example install into a Madcatz PS3 VS.

Strip the fightstick down and remove the home panel.
IlH5wTh.jpg

Swap out the pcb with the HPR board and reassemble the home panel. Place back into its original spot inside the case.
6zxhugh.jpg

Plug in the harnesses into the HPR and UFB. As seen in the picture, the harness with two wires has is red wire going to the home signal screw terminal and the black wire soldered to the Kgrd wire from the fightstick's button harness. The rest of the UFB install involving the buttons and joystick is not part of this scope. That is left up to you, but using the screw terminals is a good start.

Good morning everyone! Wanted to throw launch the shop into the Tech Talk Community because why not... every other vendor has. I'll migrate over my SALES threads to here and ask the mods to close them out once I get everything moved over.

** About me and the Shop **

Some of you may know me, some of you may not... I am Jasen and I am a DIY-Aholic. I build Fight Sticks, SuperGuns, Print and Cut Custom Graphics, and Sell buttons, sticks, and tech to fuel my addiction. What started out as a minor hobby as a kid (pulling things apart to see how they worked and getting rocked at Street Fighter II and Samurai Showdown) turned into an obsession. Many things I make such as the Panzer Fight Sticks, SuperGun Cases, and graphics started out as something I needed for a project I was working on. Over the past two years it evolved into a "business", a term I use loosely because I'm not trying to make money... just trying to save it for my random projects and passing it along the best I can to the community. By night I may be an arcade/gaming enthusiast but by day I am a LCDR in the US Navy and drive Submarines for a living. Because of my day job I have been able to learn a lot of crazy stuff that has influenced my designs and projects. Thanks Navy for training me and testing me as a Nuclear Engineer!

I run this by myself so I know the quality of parts, prints, and builds... in my house. America was built from the home, I'm going to try and keep it that way. Plus it saves me money :-D
